Humaira RashidHumaira Rashid was born in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. From a young age she took up writing, compiling books of short stories and poems. In 2008 she won the Muslim Writers Award for the Under-16 Short Story, and the subsequent year, won the ault Unpublished Short Story category, as well as the Muslim Writers of the Year Award for her story Crash and Burn.
