Imogen StirlingImogen is a Glasgow-based spoken word poet, theatre-maker, vocalist and educator. She was the inaugural Writer-in-Residence for Paisley Book Festival 2021 and can be seen on the BAFTA-winning Sky Arts documentary, Life & Rhymes, hosted by Benjamin Zehaniah. Imogen is a highly regarded artist who has performed her work widely throughout the UK and abroad (inc. BBC, Sofar Sounds, Latitude Festival, Neu! Reekie!, Aye! Write). She is best recognised for her five-star debut show #Hypocrisy (sell out runs at Edinburgh Fringe and Prague Fringe; UK tour; longlisted for Amnesty International Freedom of Expression Award) and was a participant of the BBC Words First talent development scheme. Blending poetry with electronic music, Imogen’s new show Love The Sinner is currently in development, supported by Vanishing Point. She co-founded Siren Theatre Company, whose debut production, Text Me When You Get Home is being developed in partnership with Tron Theatre, Creative Scotland and Glasgow & Clyde Rape Crisis. Siren is part of The Gaiety Theatre’s New Scottish Companies Programme. As a creative educator, Imogen has facilitated in a wide variety of community contexts, focusing on writing, spoken word and mental health.
