Io ManolessouIo Manolessou studied Greek literature and linguistics at the Universities of Athens and Cambridge. She has worked as a Research Associate at the University of Cambridge and as a Lecturer in Historical Linguistics at the University of Patras. She nowholds the post of Senior Researcher at the Academy of Athens, working on the compilation of the Historical Dictionary of Modern Greek. She has participated in a number of international research projects on Greek dialectology and linguistics, and has published more than fifty papers on various topics focusing on Greek language history, dialectology and lexicography.
