Irene BirdIrene Bird is from Peguis First Nation, Treaty One, Manitoba. From a young age, Irene spent her time writing poetry and spending time on the land, often commercial fishing with her family. Her premier book, Pour My Heart Out, pays homage to her high chool English teacher, Nicole, who encouraged and supported Irene as she honed her talent.
