J Michael MaessenMichael J. Maessen, born at Zaltbommel in 1951, studied Law at Nijmegen University. He graduated in Dutch Civil Law in 1977. Since 1978, he has been practising as an attorney-at-law and barrister in Tilburg. In 1983, he became a partner in thefirm De Voort Advocaten Mediators. His expertise includes company and bankruptcy law. He is regularly appointed as an official receiver. He is well known in the national and international soccer world. As a former member of the board of Willem II, a professional first-division club in Holland, he was also the chairman of the Appeals Body of the License committee of the KNVB, member of the court of arbitration of the KNVB, and vice president of the professional soccer department of the KNVB, as well as member of the general board of the KNVB. He also was the first chairman of the Integrity Unit of the KNVB. At the moment, he is first vice chairman of the Appeals Body of UEFA and chairman of the Integrity Unit of the KNVB.
