Jacob's interest in jazz sparked in the 8th grade when he heard the Brackenridge High School Stage Band perform. Later, he got the opportunity to study jazz piano, composing and arranging with legendary jazz pianist Dr. James Polk while attending Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.
