James C PaavolaAfter his retirement as a psychologist, Dr. James "Jim" Paavola began writing mysteries. His fictional works include a six-book Murder In Memphis police procedural series and a six-book Sonny and Breanne Mystery paranormal, upper-middle-school series His books have three times been named a 'Killer Nashville Silver Falchion Award' finalist, and once a 'Killer Nashville Silver Falchion Award Top Pick.' One book was featured in the "Diversity Issue" of Kirkus Reviews Magazine. Jim has also written seven short stories published in the award-winning anthologies of the Malice in Memphis A Killer Writing Group. One of his short stories earned the 'Midsouthcon 2022 Darrell Award for the Best Midsouth Short Story.' All of Jim's fictional stories are set in Memphis, Tennessee where he lives with his wife.
