James D. CalderJAMES D. CALDER is Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at The University of Texas at San Antonio. His teaching and research specialties include intelligence, espionage, national security, organized and white collar crime, American criminal justic history, and private and government security practices. He recently published several topical articles on intelligence and espionage subjects in the Encyclopedia of U.S. Foreign Policy (1997), as well as an earlier book, The Origins and Development of Federal Crime Control Policy: Herbert Hoover's Initiatives (Praeger, 1993).
