James L FelderJames L. Felder has been involved in the AME Church since his birth. He has been involved in civil rights since his election as vice president of the NAACP Youth Council at Mt. Pisgah AME Church in 1954. He was one of three blacks elected to the Sout Carolina House of Representatives in 1970, becoming the first to serve since Reconstruction. His first book, I Buried John F. Kennedy, reveals the role he played in the funeral of President Kennedy in 1963. The second book, Civil Rights In South Carolina, tells the stories of sit-ins, integration of state universities, movements in various communities, major legal rulings that ended forced segregation and election of black judges.
