Jane GoodallJane Goodall was an English zoologist. She was a renowned expert on chimpanzees, having studied them at the Gombe Stream Reserve by Lake Tanganyika from 1970. She worked extensively on conservation and animal welfare issues. Her books include IN THE HADOW OF MAN, published in more than forty languages. Winner of the Kyoto Prize (1990), Hubbard Medal (1995), Tyler Prize for Environmental Achievement (1997), she was a UN Ambassador, and received her Damehood in 2004. She died in 2025.
