Jaunius Gumbis

Dr Jaunius Gumbis is an Associate Professor of Philosophy and Legal reasoning at Vilnius University, Faculty of Law with over twenty years of academic experience, also attorney and Partner in law firm LAWIN - internationally highest ranked usiness law firm in the Baltics, Head of Vilnius Industry and Regulatory practice group since its established. Dr Gumbis academic interests range from bioethics, legal philosophy to legal reasoning. In 1993 Dr Gumbis has obtained a degree of Master in Law from Vilnius University Faculty of Law and continued his legal studies at the Academy of American and International Law, Dallas, USA (1993); International Institute of Human Rights, Strasbourg, France (1994); Jean Moulin University, Lyon, France (1995); and obtained a Ph.D. degree at Vilnius University Faculty of Law in 2002.

Dr Gumbis is an author and co-author of over thirty-eight papers and book chapters on competition, energy and utilities, communications, medical law, concept of Law. Since 2008 Dr Gumbis is a Recommended arbitrator of Vilnius Court of Commercial Arbitration. In 2011 he was appointed as an Honorary Consul of the Republic of Brazil. Since 2012 he is a Member of Vilnius Regional Biomedical Research Ethics Committee.
