Jean SlickJean Slick is an Associate Professor in the Disaster and Emergency Management program at Royal Roads University in Victoria, Canada. Her doctoral research examined the use of cases in teaching in disaster and emergency management higher education prorams. Her current research explores how the use of digital technologies and social media are shaping the characteristics of emergent response to disasters. Before joining Royal Roads in 2009, she held a range of leadership positions with the Canadian Red Cross in her 28 years with the organization, which included responding to disasters in domestic and international contexts.
