She received her MBA-Finance degree from the University of Denver and is a Registered Investment Advisor with the SEC. She worked, for a short time, in the Colorado Public Shool System where she was automatically enrolled in the CO private pension plan - PERA. It was this position that activated her SS offsets. Now retired, Jeanette learned firsthand about SS offset penalties. Like many others, she was angered by the lack of information which would have prevented her from accepting a public service position in any state with a private pension plan. She decided to write this book to inform other workers about the huge offset penalties they may face upon retirement, if they split their working careers between a government job and a SS covered position.
