He served as counsel to the chairman of the U.S. House Armed Services Committee from 2020 to 2022, where hisportfolio encompassed Department of Defense acquisitions, industrial base policy, and foreign investment reviews.From 2013 to 2020, Jeff practiced law with Covington & Burling in Washington, DC. At William & Mary Law School, Jeff served as Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review and was awarded the Thatcher Prize, the I'Anson Prize, and the Order of the Coif. He clerked for the Honorable Rebecca Beach Smith, then the Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Prior to law school, Jeff served as a Marine Corps officer.Outside of legal practice, Jeff is a member of St. John's Church Lafayette Square and its choir.
