Jie Zhao

Dr. Jie Zhao obtained her MSc in Mechatronics and Automation Engineering and PhD in micro-manufacturing of tubular micro-components, both from the University of Strathclyde. She currently serves as a Research Manager in the Department of Design, Mnufacturing, and Engineering Management. Since 2007, she has worked as a researcher and project manager at the Centre for Precision Manufacturing and the Advanced Forming Research Centre, contributing to over 10 large scale R&D and commercial projects. Her research interests span micro-manufacturing process development and optimization for resource efficiency and sustainability, forming tool and machine system development, digital manufacturing and condition monitoring.

She has authored and co-authored over 30 technical articles and book chapters and delivered presentations at more than 20 international conferences and industry events. Additionally, she has served as a reviewer for various international conferences and journals specialising in precision engineering and micro-/nano-manufacturing.
