Jill FalesOver the last three decades, Jill Fales has utilized her degree in human development and her master's degrees in education and in American history to help fill the roles of mom, teacher, tutor, and children's book club facilitator. One of her most grtifying intersections between being an educator and a mom occurred when Jill took her four kids out of school on what she dubbed "The Great American Field Trip," road-schooling for a semester through thirty-four states.
Jill's writing has previously appeared in the Newport Beach Independent, where she penned a weekly column for six years called "Mom's Voice." A collection of some of those columns comprised her first independently published book,
My Laundry Museum and Other Messy Gifts of Motherhood. Jill's freelance writing has also appeared in OC Family Magazine, OC Parenting Magazine, the Coastal Real Estate Guide, and the Orange County Register. All of these experiences led Jill to write her debut novel,
From the Life and Bookcase of Winnie Lowel-exploring the power of voice, and the courage to try something new. Jill lives with her husband in Newport Beach, California, and enjoys visiting their four children, who grew up too fast and now live in four different states.
