Jim WaiteJim Waite began writing at a very young age. At eight years old, he had written several stories, reports, and poems. The world fascinated young Jimmy, and with that fascination and love for writing also came a love for reading. Dr. Seuss was a favorie while growing up, and TV shows like Mister Rogers' Neighborhood added to that fascination. As a result of his love for reading Dr. Seuss and watching shows like Mister Rogers, the Better than Best books were born. Better than Best: Be Strong is Jim's fifth book in the Character Counts series. As you read, you'll notice the similarities between Dr. Seuss's rhyming and a Mister Rogers lesson.Jim Waite, widowed in May 2022, dedicates this book to his dear wife, Lisa. They are the parents of ten children and six grandchildren.
