Jodie BartonJodie Barton is a children's author and primary school teacher based in Perth, Western Australia. She teaches in an Intensive English Centre (IEC) where she works with newly arrived migrant and refugee students from across the globe. Her classroom isa place of warmth, belonging and storytelling, where language is gently nurtured and every child's voice matters. Her writing blends lyrical language with themes of identity, resilience and cultural connection, often shaped by her work with EAL/D learners. Jodie's debut picture book, Wibbly Wobbly Tooth, was released by Austin Macauley Publishers in August 2025. Inspired by the joyful chaos of classroom life and the universal experience of losing a first tooth, it captures the humour and heart of early childhood. Jodie holds a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Studies) and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications (Media Analysis and Production). Her dual qualifications reflect a love of both teaching and storytelling, and she is passionate about books that make space for children navigating new languages, cultures and landscapes. When she's not writing, Jodie enjoys baking, spending time with her teenage son, and going for long walks with her Labrador, George. She also shares her home with a cat named Maggie, who is less fond of walks but is always nearby when a warm lap or story is available. Read More Read Less
