Joe Vàsquez

Bishop Joe Vásquez studied Theology at the University of St. Thomas in Houston before attending the Gregorian University, North American College in Rome. He was ordained in 1984 and served at several parishes before being installed as auxiliary bihop of the archdiocese of Galveston-Houston in 2010. He is currently bishop of the diocese of Austin. Bishop Vásquez serves on several committees of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), including the board of directors of the Catholic Legal Immigration Network and as chair of the Committee on Migration.

El obispo Joe S. Vásquez posee una licenciatura en Teología por la Universidad de Santo Tomás de Houston, así como una licenciatura en Teología Sagrada por la Pontificia Universidad Gregoriana de Roma. Tras su ordenación en 1984, sirvió como párroco asociado y párroco en diversas parroquias. En el año 2001 se le designó obispo auxiliar de Galveston-Houston y en el 2010 fue investido obispo de Austin. En la actualidad se desempeña como presidente del Comité de Migración de la Conferencia Episcopal de Estados Unidos (USCCB por sus siglas en inglés).
