John A HashDr. John A Hash (1921-2012) received God's call to serve in ministry at the age of nineteen. He pastored several churches while attending college and pursuing Bible studies. Dr. John Hash was then employed with several prominent Christian organizatios, including Rex Humbard, Jerry Falwell, and John R. Rice in their respective ministries. Throughout Hash's life, his love for God and His Word were evident. Dr. Hash knew the value and importance of the Bible to change the lives and destinies of people and nations. In the early 1970s, he became burdened with the fact that many people were lacking knowledge and understanding of God's Word. In 1973, Bible Pathway Ministry was humbly born when Hash posted an ad offering a free-subscription guide to help people read through the Bible in one year. One thousand requests poured in, not only for reading guides, but for Bibles, as well. The systematic, easy-to-understand guide proved popular. Inquiries continued to come in from all over the world, including from mission fields and Third World countries, which compelled the (now) ministry team to translate the popular study guide into many languages. Christian leaders and educators in all major denominations throughout the world endorsed and recommended the plan, further promoting it. The first book edition, The Best of Bible Pathway, was published in 1991. More than 90 million publications were sent to 186 nations in 35 languages in its first twenty years (from 1973 through 1993). Countless churches have been established around the world, particularly in Africa and India, through Dr. Hash's ministry. To further promote Bible reading and Bible literacy, Dr. Hash and cochair, Dr. Bill Bright, helped lead the International Bible Reading Association.
