John Baynes BtLt-Col Sir John Baynes, Bt left the regular army in 1972 after 26 years of service and was co-proprietor of Lake Vyrnwy Hotel which he had first visited with his father on a fishing holiday in 1946. After 14 years the two partners sold the hotel and e moved to live near Llanfyllin. Sir John then resumed his distinguished career as a military historian and continued to participate in the sporting side of the hotel. He died in 2005. Read More Read Less
