John Beatty
John Beatty (1828-1914) was an American author and Union officer who served during the Civil War. His firsthand experiences as a volunteer in the Third Ohio Volunteer Infantry inspired his writing in "The Citizen-Soldier." Beatty's memoirs offer aunique perspective on the challenges and camaraderie of soldiers during the Civil War.
