John LeechJohn Leech (1817-1864) was an English illustrator and caricaturist best known for his work for Punch and for his original illustrations for Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol. His images helped establish the visual identity of Dickens's Christmas clssic from its first publication, giving memorable form to Scrooge, Marley's Ghost, the Christmas spirits, and the mixture of humour, fear, warmth, and moral transformation at the heart of the story.
