Born and raised on Long Island, John graduated from Bard College (creative writing) and Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. After helping launch Sports Illustrated for Kids magazine, he won numerous educational press awards as a staff writer and senior editor before joining Sports Illustrated as a website producer.
