John VileJohn R. Vile is a professor of political science and dean of the University Honors College at Middle Tennessee State University. He is the author of numerous books including <>The Writing and Ratification of the United States Constitution: Practical Virtue in Action (2012); A Companion to the United States Constitution and Its Amendments, 5th ed. (2011); Essential Supreme Court Decisions: Summaries of Leading Cases in U.S. Constitutional Law, 15th ed. (2010); and The Encyclopedia of Constitutional Amendments, Proposed Amendments, and Amending Issues, 1789-2010, 3rd ed. (2010). He is a member of the board of the American Mock Trial Association, a recipient of the Congressman Neal Smith award for contributions to law-related education, a 2009 inductee into the American Mock Trial Coaches Hall of Fame, and a recipient of MTSU's Outstanding Career Achievement Award for 2010–2011.
