Korean War Veteras never talked about the war because of the way the government has played it down. It made them feel ashamed like they were suckers. The Korean War came too close to WW2, and nobody was buying it. So it became the forgotten war. He didn't realize how much he was affected by that war. It was only recently that they refer to it as such. He felt a nagging inside that he had to tell their story. He describes what it was like to live day by day through it.
