John spent ten years in the aerospace business and retired from Lockheed Martin in 2012 to launch a consulting firm allowing him the freedom to pursue his love of writing history, and the arts. Prior to working in the corporate world, John enjoyed a 30-year law enforcement career including being twice elected to serve as the Sheriff for El Paso County, Colorado (he was term-limited in 2003).
