His lyrical, personal, immersive, and historical writing has led him to projecs around the globe. His most recent project centered on Gram Parsons’s life and death for Joshua Tree National Park. He has received fellowships from the NEA and the state of Florida, among many others, and his writing has appeared in a wide range of publications from Poetry and The New York Times Magazine to The Journal of the American Medical Association and Slate.
