Joyce Snyder
Joyce Snyder and her husband are long-time residents of Palo Alto, California, where they raised three daughters.
Joyce retired as a psychiatric clinical nurse specialist from the VA Medical Center. She has used the time since to pursue intrests in poetry, birding, nature, and art.
She served as a docent at Tor House in Carmel, the charming home of poet Robinson Jeffers and his wife Una. She enjoyed learning and sharing his beautiful poetry and their lifestyle with visitors.
Her writing has been developed and refined by poetry classes and workshops, as well as collaborating in several small poetry groups.
She has been Influenced by many poets including Elizabeth Bishop, Stanley Kunitz, Naomi Shihab Nye, and Rainer Maria Rilke.
She has been published in the California State Poetry Society Quarterly and Quiet Diamonds, poetry journal of The Orchard Street Press.
