Judy StewartAn elementary school teacher before becoming a lawyer, Judy moved from Knowlton, Quebec, to Alberta in 1974. She practiced law in Alberta, primarily at the nexus of water and municipal law, and is now retired. With her Master of Laws and Doctor of Phlosophy proudly displayed on her ego wall, she sits quietly and writes.Judy lives in Cochrane, Alberta, where she served on town council, and was once even the mayor! She enjoys life with her husband of over 50 years. Judy has two grown children, a daughter-in-law, a son-in-law, and two grandsons. Life is great!Judy recently published a book of prose and poetry, Lady's Slipper. This is her favourite review: Nostalgia, humour, and defianceStewart's upbringing and early sense of language and identity run throughout the book [Lady's Slipper]. Stewart's tone is warm and wry, weaving nostalgia with humour and a hint of defiance. That spirit carries into her upcoming book, Enriched Childhood, which she describes as a playful rebuttal to relatives who remember their youth as impoverished.Noel Edey - CochraneNowMany thanks to Bruce Stewart for the use of his original oil painting that appears on the front cover.
