Julie StathamJulie Statham has lived in the Algarve since 1998 moving there from France where she was an active walk leader for four years. Originally from the UK she has an Earth Sciences degree from the Open University and a degree and doctorate in Geology fromBristol University; today she is especially interested in conservation and environmental protection. Since moving to the Algarve, walking has become her life and she now has her own walking company 'Portugal Walks' which offers walking holidays through out the country. Julie is passionate about the potential of the Algarve for walking and is constantly seeking new paths and trails, "it's an obsession".
