Jurjen A. BattjesJurjen Battjes is Emeritus Professor at Technische Universiteit Delft, the Netherlands. Now retired, Professor Battjes had a long career in university teaching and research in the field of fluid mechanics. He taught courses in modelling, introductoryfluid mechanics, unsteady flow in open channels, and wind-generated waves, the latter being his major research topic. He has also been active as a consultant on numerous projects in coastal engineering, including the Deltaworks in the Netherlands.
