His degrees include Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from the University of Mysore, Master of Technology (Machine Design) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (India) and Doctorate Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. He was a recipient of Ford Foundation Senior Research Fellow at the University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada. He served as Lecturer, Reader (Assistant Professor), and Professor in Mechanical Engineering at the University College of Engineering. He has to his credit several papers published in various international technical journals. He is a member of SEM (USA), ASME, and ISTE (India). Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India) and P.E. He is a member on the Executive Committee of the IFTOMM Gear Committee.
