Katelyn WilliamsKatelyn Williams is a middle school counselor and sees herself as an educator, creator, advocate, and overall connector of people. She holds a bachelor of science degree in psychology from Gardner-Webb University and master of science in counseling fom the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. She was born and raised in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where she currently lives with her husband and daughter. Katelyn was inspired to write this book after she reflected on how deeply impacted she was by the first Black Disney princess, Tiana. She was a teenager when The Princess and the Frog premiered, yet she felt empowered to see someone like her being celebrated.
