Katie RevenoKatie is a 15-year old American synchronized swimmer, high school student, and first-time author. She fell in love with the incredible sport of synchronized swimming eight years ago, and it has remained a very important part of her life ever since. Tis year she was honored to be selected as a member of the 13-15 U.S. National team. Each time she has had the opportunity to teach and mentor younger swimmers, Katie saw the extreme positive impact the sport has on both their character and overall athleticism. At just seven years old, young synchronized swimmers have both the mental toughness and endurance to push through challenging workouts. Their obvious passion for the sport and for their teammates fuels an intense desire to improve. The cycle continues as their progress builds their confidence and capacity for hard work. After witnessing such positive development in these young swimmers, she found it tragic how few girls are involved with the sport or even know about its existence. From a very young age, children learn about sports such as basketball or soccer and are thus far more likely to try them. Katie feels strongly that if girls only knew about the fabulous sport that combines swimming, dancing, and gymnastics they would be thrilled to get involved. As both a synchronized swimmer and a writer, Katie felt that she was uniquely qualified to bring this book's mission to life. Read More Read Less
