Kerry SchiffDr. Kerry-Gaye Schiff was born in Zimbabwe but grew up in South Africa, firstly on a farm near Knysna and later in Cape Town. She completed degrees in Communication and Journalism at university, before moving on to Honour's and Master's degrees in Clnical Psychology, and ultimately completed a Doctorate degree in Consultational Psychology. She has written numerous academic articles and has been published in various academic journals for her research into cruelty to animals as it relates to later aggression towards people. She has also been involved in detailed qualitative research into violence and suicidal tendencies within a militaristic environment such as the South African Police. On a lighter note, for the past few years Kerry has been involved in writing anecdotal articles for the Multiple Birth Society on the joys and challenges of raising identical twins, based on the diary in her blog, Life in Stereo. Her first fictional novel, -In the Forest Fey-, published by Random House UK in 2006, is a mock-umentary/allegorical/fantasy novel about faeries and their interactions with the natural world. More recently, Kerry has specialized in working with children with behavioural problems, and often uses social stories to promote change for troubled youngsters. It has always been her dream to reach a wider audience with books that both challenge and inspire.
