Kevin BoyleGrowing up in a large family on Long Island Kevin Boyle quickly learned the value of hard work and determination. While attending Wantagh High School he was coached by 1968 USA Olympic Track Coach, Mike Byrnes, and ran his first marathon in 1979 at te age of 15. Thereafter at St John's University in Queens, NY he was coached by two-time Olympian and American Record holder Matt Centrowitz. Kevin implemented the lessons learned from these two coaching legends while serving as Great Neck South High School Track and Cross Country Coach. As a night school law student, Kevin lead Great Neck South to several county titles, as well as mentored the nation's fastest high school miler. Upon graduation from law school he entered the US Army as a Judge Advocate. During his twenty-six year career not only was he a member of the All-Army Track team, he also served in several of the Army's most critical legal positions. Upon his retirement as a Colonel he returned to coaching joining forces with Matt Centrowitz at American University in Washington DC. Shortly thereafter he transitioned to teaching and currently serves as a professor in American University's School of Public Affairs. A multiple time USA Track and Field Masters All-American, he has completed at least one marathon in six consecutive decades.
