Kevin CoonKevin Coon is a member of the Labour, Employment and Employee Benefits Law Practice Group and is Managing Partner of the Toronto office of Baker & McKenzie LLP. Mr. Coon specializes in the interpretation and application of local and internatioal labour and employment laws. He counsels, advises and trains executives, managers and supervisors in workplace due diligence, compliance, CSR, international and national labour standards, global labour relations, positive employee relations matters and best practices, as well provides representation and advocacy before various Courts, Coroners Inquests, Administrative Tribunals and Arbitrators. Kevin received his law degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1987 and a Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations and Economics in 1982. He has participated in Executive Leadership Training at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management in Chicago and at the Centre for Creative Leadership in Colorado. Kevin has served terms working as a Policy Advisor to the Minister of Labour for the Government of Ontario, as an Assistant to the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada and as a Special Constable with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He is actively involved with the United Nations International Labour Organization (ILO), as the Employer Representative on the Canadian Delegation including participation on the Committee on the Application of International Labour Standards, the Committee and drafting committee on the development of an international labour standard on HIV/AIDS and the World of Work and other initiatives. He also serves on the Working Group on Corporate Social Responsibility for the International Organization of Employers.
