Kiara ThomasKiara Thomas is an up-and-coming author who writes heartwarming and whimsical stories that celebrate family, friendship and the simple joys in life. Having worked as an editor for the majority of her career, Kiara is delighted to have written her firt book. Kiara has studied with Niki Foreman, formerly a senior editor at Penguin Random House. After awarding Kiara high distinction, Foreman wrote, "I am confident that Kiara will be a valuable asset to any team in the publishing industry. Her passion for books and understanding of accessible needs in book design and formats, combined with her newly honed editorial skills and deep understanding of the global publishing landscape, will undoubtedly contribute to her future success." As an editor, Kiara has worked with numerous authors, including children's authors, memoirists, poets, novelists and business writers. Kiara is a member of the Institute of Professional Editors (IPEd), the Canberra Society of Editors (CSE), Omega Writers, Life Stories Australia, the Australian Society of Authors (ASA), and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). Kiara was Communications Assistant and Writer for Canberra's 1WAY FM from 2023 until 2025. Kiara has also worked as a writer and editor for Unexpected: The Student Edit. Kiara was also Professional Development Officer for the NSW branch of the Institute of Professional Editors.Kiara will soon be awarded a Bachelor of Media and Communications with a major in Writing and Publishing and a minor in Digital and Social Media from the University of New England.
