Kim ThúyKim Thúy was born in Saigon and arrived in Quebec at age ten in 1978, with the first wave of boat people from Vietnam. She has degrees from the University of Montreal in linguistics and translation and in law, and she has worked as a seamstess, interpreter, translator, lawyer, and restaurateur.
