She is a Professor of Microbiology as applied to Biosecrity and Microbial Forensic Sciences and a research scientist at the frontier of disease diagnostic technologies. She moved to Oklahoma from Washington DC where in 2012-2013 she did a professional detail as a Senior Advisor to the World Bank, working at the interface of child health and agriculture in Africa.
