Koen GeensKoen Geens (born 1958) is Licentiate of Law (summa cum laude, Leuven, 1980), Master of Laws (Harvard, 1981) and Doctor of Law (Leuven, 1986). His doctoral thesis about professional regulation and ethics was awarded the bi-annual State Award of the Flmish Community for Law and Economics (1987), and the Baron Emile Van Dievoet Price (1989). He was appointed professor at the KU Leuven in 1986 and presently teaches company and financial law. He is an editor-in-chief of the Tijdschrift voor Rechtpersoon en Vennootschap (Review for Legal Persons and Companies, 1988), and author of numerous articles and several books on company and financial law.
