Lana MourningLana Mourning was raised on a cattle and sheep ranch in Western Colorado. She loved the quiet peace of the majestic, mountains, of the upper ranch and hearing the babbling waters, of the meandering, river, beneath the spiring towers, of the red rims,at the lower ranch. The ranch became a place of solace, after her father's death when she was eleven. It also became a place of renewed hope, finding her future husband, Eric on the next ranch over. After a year and a half of dating, Eric and Lana were married on her graduation day. So began their 'Love Story'. Facing the challenges of Eric's departure for Viet Nam when their first baby, Laure was only eleven days old, to both finding faith in Jesus Christ, continents apart, while he was deployed. His homecoming and return were an answer to Lana's prayer and promise, that when he returned, they would make their public confession of faith, together. Adding two more babies, Aaron and Myra, eleven and a half months apart, after Eric's return, completed their young, busy family.Learning at a young age to sew, Lana became a seamstress. She enjoyed making a lot of her family's clothing and quilts for covers. Sewing for others, added to the income when needed. Photo quilts became a way of sharing family history. Poems and short stories were an enjoyable outlet to tell of faith's progress or to give tributes to loved ones.In June 2017, Eric and Lana celebrated fifty years of marriage reminiscing with cherished family and friends, who have touched their lives through the years. Writing 'Our Legacy of Life and Love', was Lana's wish to share life lessons in personal stories with her children and grandchildren. Now, with additions corrections and revisions, Patches and Pieces: Becoming a Legacy has become a labor of love; to share those stories with others, for such a time as this'. The world is in need of reminders, of God's provision and Sovereignty! Read More Read Less
