Laura ColeLaura, a native New Yorker raised in the Bronx, has spent most of her adult life in New Jersey, except for a few years in the Southwest. Her only child, Dylan, co-author, bravely battled drug addiction for a decade. In 2020, just days after returningfrom an addiction recovery center, he tragically lost his life to Fentanyl poisoning. Since then, Laura has dedicated herself to grief education and advocacy, working to break the stigma surrounding substance use disorder and the families affected. Certified as a Grief Educator by renowned specialist and author David Kessler, Laura continues to study addiction, trauma, and grief. As an artist and grieving mother who found solace and healing through creativity, she is developing an art-based grief support workshop. This workshop is a personal offering designed to help others navigate grief through artistic expression, just as she has. Laura's The Hearts Unspoken website & Epub, is soon to launch. It is an offering of creative healing projects. Beyond her advocacy and creative pursuits, Laura finds solace in tending to injured wildlife, gardening, and raising Monarch butterflies. And no matter where life takes her, her heart always leads her back to Manhattan. Read More Read Less
