Lausanne OlvittLausanne Olvitt is an Associate Professor of Education at Rhodes University (South Africa), with research affiliation to the EnvironmentalLearning Research Centre. She has over 25 years' experience in the field of environmental education, starting asa teacher running a school'senvironmental club, then working in the environmental NGO sector and now in higher education. Lausanne currently teaches a range of courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and has been an active member of the Environmental Education Association of Southern Africa for many years, and Deputy Editor of its academic journal, the Southern African Journal of Environmental Education. Lausanne's research interests are mostly oriented around the 'fuzzy', affective dimensions of sustainability learning such as relationality, ethics, values, justice, care, and moral agency. She tries to keep this work grounded in local, practical sustainability practices in Makhanda where she lives with a collection of dogs, cats and vegetables.
