Leara L DoryLeara Dory lives in Maryland with her husband and two chocolate Labs, Stanford and Samantha; their son also lives in Maryland. Leara got her inspiration for writing when her mother passed away from lung cancer at the age of fifty-six over twenty-nineyears ago. She began writing about her mother's life and sacrifices. She did not want to forget her so she put every memory on paper. Leara is the youngest of five siblings who were all born and lived on the South Side of Chicago and later migrated to a small town in Indiana through the wonders of their awesome mother. She later migrated to Southern California after college, where she met and married her husband, a navy man who was stationed in Long Beach. They later migrated to Maryland, where her husband was raised. Although her roots come fromTexas and Tennessee, where her dad and mom were born, respectively, her Midwest and East Coast influences are more embodied in her.During her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, dogs, and friends, reading while listening to music, eating, and watching football, and you will often find her with her computer or iPad in her lap, writing.
