Lee HardiesLee Hardies is a retired architect, living in Colorado, USA. He has served on historic preservation commissions in Longmont and Berthoud, CO. During his many years of architectural practice, he has designed and led historic preservation projects in Dnver, Leadville, Kersey, and Grand Junction, Colorado.After earning his bachelor's degree in architecture at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, Lee worked with several Los Angeles area firms before co-founding his first office, Hardies Swickard Associates, in Thousand Oaks, California. Relocating to Colorado in 1987, he continued his small practice, designing custom homes and small commercial projects before discovering his love of historic pres-ervation. He has served on state and local boards of the American Institute of Architects. Lee co-founded Infusion Architects in Love-land, Colorado in 2014, retiring from the firm in 2022 to pursue interests in oil painting and fiction writing.SAVING CARLTON is fiction, based in part, on the author's experiences in architecture and historic preservation and his love of small towns in Colorado.
