Leonor Calvo
Dr. Leonor Calvo, a Full Professor in Ecology since 2020, holds a degree in Biology from the University of León. Her research interests focus on analyzing the effects of disturbances, particularly forest fires, on terrestrial ecosystems' structureand functioning at community and landscape scales. Dr. Calvo has been involved in over 30 research projects related to studying perturbation effects on terrestrial ecosystems, including plant community responses and regeneration mechanisms post-disturbance. She has led 13 projects funded by entities such as the Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad, Junta de Castilla y León, and the Biodiversity Foundation. Additionally, Dr. Calvo has contributed as an "external expert" in the RUBICODE project, "Rationalising biodiversity conservation for ecosystem service provision in a changing World," supported by the European Commission.
