Put up 37 years of Research experience in National Bureau of Soil Survey and Land use planning at New Delhi (12 years) northern regionand Bangalore( 25 years )Southern region .Major research areas worked are Agro- climatic data interpretations for crop planning, Soil survey data interpretations for Land Evaluation and Land Use planning, . Agro -technology Transfer on farmers fields. Undergone advanced training in Land use planning and GIS at UK. Involved in developing Land Use plans at District/State level for Southern states Developed Land suitability criteria for 60 crops. Developed linkage with Govt. Central/State level organisations and promoted use of soil survey information in different Agricultural developmental programmes. Principal Scientist since 1998.and as Regional Head ( Southern zone) from 2008 and retired in July 2014.Brought out 451 publications(70 papers in reearch. journals,42 papers in Seminar/Symposia/Work shop,6 book chapters, 1 manual,7 popular articles,325 Technical reports/ Atlases) Got 5 Awards/Recognitions from State GOVT departments and Professional Societies.
