Li Laing

I'm Li Laing, author of Against All Odds. Born in Panama, I was sent to the United States to live with my sister at just 14 years old, where I lived undocumented for 35 years. That experience of survival, silence, and resilience shaped me in ways ew can imagine.

Later in life, I embraced my truth and transitioned as a trans man, stepping fully into the person I was always meant to be. Today, I share my story not only as a personal testimony but also as a voice for those who have felt invisible, silenced, or trapped by circumstance.

My purpose is to inspire others to believe that no matter the challenges, it is always possible to rise, transform, and live with authenticity and dignity.

Writing has always been both a passion and a form of healing. With Between Two Worlds, Li shares a personal journey of mistakes, redemption, and the search for true self. The memoir reflects a lifelong commitment to growth, honesty, and the power of storytelling to connect people across cultures and experiences.
